Congratulations on your engagement!

This is such an exciting time, and if you're feeling a bit like a wedding planning novice, don't worry—I've got your back. Think of me as your personal wedding stationery bff, here to take some of that stress off your shoulders and maybe even make this part of the process a little fun (yes, it’s possible!).

Navigating the timelines for all those wedding details can feel like trying to solve a puzzle with missing pieces—especially when it’s your first time around. But don’t sweat it; I’m here help! Guiding you through everything from save-the-dates to invitations, day-of details, shower invites, and those all-important thank you cards (because who doesn’t love getting mail?).

Use the cheat sheet below to match your wedding date with key planning milestones. And be sure to scroll down for my top tips on ordering and sending your stationery—it’s like having a veteran designer whispering in your ear, but without the actual whispering (because that would be weird).

Shower Invitations

Shower Invitations and Thank You Cards can be ordered at the same time. If you plan on going simple, 6-8 weeks is a great time to order and be sure to get them in the mail no later than 4 weeks before. If you wanted to go the custom route, check with your stationer for exact start time, but personally I like to start the design process immediately after your invitations are assembled and delivered which is about 12-13 weeks before your wedding. This allows for a complete design process.

Day of Stationery

Day of Stationeries should be ordered 2 MONTHS before your wedding to allow for any last minute changes.

Side note* DO NOT ORDER 2 WEEKS BEFORE YOUR WEDDING*

Thank You Cards

Use one of your "sneak peek" photos from your photographer for your thank you cards. These should be sent to your stationer as soon as you get them back. If you decided to hand write all your thank you cards, this should begin the moment you return from your honeymoon. No one expects to get a thank you card the week following your wedding, but don't wait more than 4 weeks to get them sent out.

Extra Tips

If you are planning a destination wedding, add 1-2 months to every deadline

Remember to factor in extra mailing time for international and across the country guests (2-4 weeks)

DON’T FORGET TO BUDGET FOR POSTAGE! $1.74* EACH (includes 2 oz. mailing stamp($1.01) and rsvp stamp($0.73))
