Promita & Kolbi | Cherry Creek Golf Club | Wedding Invitation Suite | Day of Wedding Coordinator

Updated: Feb 17, 2023

I was so honored to be a part of Promita & Kolbi’s wedding day, not only as their day of wedding coordinator, but I also designed their wedding invitation suite and day of wedding signage. Promita found me on Instagram and instantly, we hit it off. From Save the Dates, Wedding Invitations, Day of Stationery and Day of Wedding Coordination this couple had the entire HSRGraphic package!

Both Kolbi & Promita are ICU nurses and met doing prerequisite coursework at Washtenaw Community College in 2015, prior to attending nursing school. After a semester of group projects, Kolbi finally asked Promita out on a date and 5 years later on their dating anniversary, he asked her to marry him :)

Promita and Kolbi had a beautiful wedding overlooking the golf course at Cherry Creek Golf Club in Shelby Township, Michigan. For a Michigan summer wedding, the day ended up being beautiful, not a cloud in the sky which of course made for beautiful photos by Mike Staff Productions. The day was broken out into 5 parts and 4 locations.

To start the day off with a bang, Hemsu Decorations did an amazing job on the mandap and all of the decor for the Indian Ceremony that took place that morning. It was important to the couple that they incorporate traditional attire for this ceremony so Promita wore a traditional sari and Kolbi wore a kurta from India.

The groomsmen also wore kurtas with black dress pants and the bridesmaids wore skirts and blouses draped with gold dupattas.

I loved being able to see all of the culture incorporated into this day.

“Being able to incorporate an Indian wedding ceremony into our day, in addition to an American ceremony officiated by a close friend of ours, was special to us. Having my mother and aunts help dress me and tie my sari was so meaningful, and my first look with my dad prior to our Indian ceremony was unforgettable”. - Promita, Bride

After the Indian ceremony, the guests were invited to enjoy Indian appetizers provided by Krishna Catering on the back patio overlooking the golf course. This gave the bride plenty of time to change into her gorgeous white lace dress by The White Dress for the American ceremony.

Immediately following this ceremony, guests attended a second cocktail hour to allow for family photos and couple portraits around the beautiful wooded grounds.

As the sun started to set, the reception officially kicked off with a grand entrance and traditional dance. Cake cutting to speeches, a full dinner course and beautiful family dances. It is safe to say that this wedding was amazing and to see the look on both Promita & Kolbi’s faces as they enjoyed every minute of their special day was a great feeling for me. Knowing that I was able to execute EXACTLY what they had envisioned strengthens my love for this job.

CUSTOM WEDDING INVITATION SUITE

It was important to Promita that her wedding invitations and matching stationery followed the theme of her entire day, so that meant incorporating both the array of colors associated with the Indian ceremony all while keeping in mind they were having an American ceremony as well.

Indian weddings are traditionally known for their bright colors, especially reds and golds so they went with maroon, peaches, and pinks for the Indian ceremony. Both Kolbi and Promita really love the color blue, so the idea of a dusty blue would be perfect for an outdoor summer wedding while having a soft contrast to the colors in the Indian ceremony.

DAY OF STATIONERY

Keeping the theme with this soft watercolor floral, we incorporated it throughout all of the day of wedding items. Dinner menus, small signage, table numbers, ceremony programs for both the Indian & American ceremonies and my personal favorite, the Escort Cards. Now I am not usually a fan of escort cards, but I made an exception for this wedding. Rather than writing the entree option on the card, I opted to include a different color flower graphic to represent a different entree selection to help the wait staff know which guest would receive which meal choice.

After working with this couple for over a year, I really feel like they have become friends, rather than clients. I am so grateful to have met both Promita and Kolbi and I am so thankful they trusted me to help bring their wedding dreams come true.
