Welcome to HSRGraphics – I CAN NOT BELIEVE IT ….. I started a Blog! Oh and HAPPY NEW YEAR! I don’t know about you, but I am so ready for 2021. It is a year of new beginnings!
What is this thing?
Welcome to my blog! Seems like a solid start, right? Well in case you have not guessed it, this is my first attempt at setting up a blog and writing a blog post. I am in no way a seasoned writer so bear with me and hopefully we can figure this out together. Let me introduce myself, my name is Heather, I am officially an old married woman with the cutest little boy EVER (sorry to the other boy moms out there)! My husband, Nick, and I have been married for 6 years and our little Aiden will be 18 months old at the end of the month. I am also the owner of HSRGraphics, you know the entire reason I am here, duh!
What is HSRGraphics, you ask?
HSRGraphics is a business I started a few years ago and I offer Custom Wedding Stationery and Day of Coordination. So, chances are pretty good most of my posts will be about the Wedding Industry. It seems like a life time ago I started this journey and I am so proud of what I have accomplished over the past several years.
I started this “side hustle” as a hobby and a way to utilize my Graphic Design degree. Working on invitations for friends and family and building a portfolio. If I only knew what several baby shower invitations and a couple sets of Custom Wedding Invitations would turn out to be, I may have done things very differently in the beginning. After connecting with a local Wedding Planner, I learned so much about the Wedding Industry and I was creating Custom Wedding Stationery for several couples on a monthly basis. I loved everything about what I was doing, and I wanted to continue full time. Unfortunately, my daily finances just wouldn’t stand for that. So, I continued this as a side hustle, which I am continuing to do today with the hopes that in a few years I can take this full time.
Why HSRGraphics?
I know the name may not make sense at a glance but its one that I came up with A LONG TIME AGO and for me, it fits! Way back when, while I was in college, my best friend was at a neighboring school and since we were studying the same things we had a lot of classes that taught the same things. For my independent study, I had to create branding for a made up business, which means I needed a business name. My friend had a similar task so one night, at our favorite bar downtown Detroit, The Bronx, we brainstormed business names.
Her selection… LSkidesigns (using her initials and design) – she was an interior designer
My selection… HSRGraphics (my initials and graphics) – I was a graphic designer
And so, the name was born. When it came to start my business, there wasn’t a doubt in my mind HSRGraphics was going to be the name.
So, that’s the story of me and HSRGraphics. I am so excited to be taking this next step and after a VERY LONG 2020, I am hopeful that 2021 will bring much needed joy.
